Mission Statement of CNI

“The Church of North India as a United and Uniting together is committed to announce the Good News of the reign of God inaugurated through death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in proclamation and to demonstrate in actions to restore the integrity of God’s creation through continuous struggle against the demonic powers by breaking down the barriers of caste, class, gender, economic inequality and exploitation of the nature.”

Terms of Reference for the Evaluation Commission

(Ref: EC: 77: 2006-19B)

  • The Evaluation Commission shall evaluate all aspects of life, mission and ministry, work and growth, witness and service of the Church of North India from the local congregation to Synod level for last thirty five years of its existence.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall study and evaluate the programs and projects, worship patterns and spirituality, mission and evangelism, resources and assets, property and finance, Boards and Institutions, structures and systems, inter-relationship between Dioceses and Institutions, relationship with the other Churches and ecumenical bodies in India and overseas.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall make in-depth study of Ram Singh’s Report, THUM and other such documents that are the outcomes of different consultations, reports and recommendations.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall review that how far the Church has been faithful to and progressed in terms of the Covenant and Vision enshrined in the plan of Church Union.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall review that how far the Church has been faithful to the mission of God and has become a worshipping, sharing and serving community rooted in Christ and identified with people.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall re-examine the structure, functions, affectivity and relevance of Episcopacy to carry forward the mission of God.
  • The Evaluation Commission should give priority to do the evaluation specially Synod Programs, the HPDP, Synodical Board of Social Services and Synodical Board of Health Services that how far these Boards and programs strengthened Congregations and Dioceses to carry forward the mission of God.
  • The Evaluation Commission shall give its recommendation to the Synod Executive Committee for taking appropriate action after critically evaluating all aspects described in the terms of reference for the said commission.
  • The CNI Synod Executive Committee shall provide all financial resources in order to complete the task entrusted to the commission.
